Evaluating Air Pollution Tolerance Index (APTI) of Two Plant Species from Industrial Area of Jodhpur

چکیده

Jodhpur is the second largest district in state of Rajasthan. With growth population numbers vehicles along with industries have increased which affecting air quality Jodhpur. Plants a very close relationship nature and they act as sink for reducing pollution. Impact pollution on two plants namely Tabernaemontana Sesbania (vegetable humming bird tree) from heavy industrial area site (HI) Phase II were evaluated terms tolerance index (APTI) by analysing four biochemical parameters namely, total chlorophyll, ascorbic acid, relative water content (RWC), pH using standard methods. Fresh mature leaves collected every month August 2019 to March 2020 morning hours between 8.00 AM 9.00 number (between 4.00 PM) counted. Average APTI values found be 7.13 5.90 respectively hence both fall sensitive category. showed positive correlation pH, RWC, acid but negative chlorophyll Tabernaemontana, while with, pH. The was maximum October (2.0 1.66). Relative minimum November (RWC 41.79 36.81) (0.4487 0.2682) respectively.

A comparative study for air pollution tolerance index of some terrestrial plant species

Although water and land pollution are very dangerous, air pollution has its own peculiarities due to its transboundary dispersion of pollutants over the entire world. In any well planned urban set up, industrial pollution takes a back seat and vehicular emissions take precedence as the major cause of urban air pollution. In the present study, Air pollution tolerance index was calculated for var...

Evaluation of air pollution tolerance index of selected plant species along roadsides in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

To develop the usefulness of plants as bioindicators requires an appropriate selection of plant species which entail an utmost importance for a particular situation. In the present study a periodic evaluation of air pollution tolerance index [APTI] of selected tree species such as Polyalthia longifolia, (Sonner) Thw., Alstonia scholaris, R. Br., Mangifera indica, L., and shrubs Clerodendron inf...
